Why WWE Released Kairi Sane
WWE released Sane on April 24, and the company hasn’t publicly explained the decision. She was part of the storyline between Asuka and IYO SKY at the time.
After her release, Sane was referenced but not named in a Raw video package building to Asuka vs. IYO at WWE Backlash. In it, Asuka said she got rid of a friend so she wouldn’t turn into another IYO. Fans also chanted for Kairi when Asuka attacked IYO.
When Asuka Returns
Asuka stepped away from WWE after losing to IYO at Backlash, but she hasn’t left the company. WWE hasn’t announced a return date.
