Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson Makes Questionable NFL Combine Decision

Arizona State Sun Devils wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is widely considered to be one of the top prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. He amassed 2,282 yards and 23 touchdowns throughout his four years in college, but he only saw the field in three of those seasons.

A smooth route runner, explosive athlete, and elite jump-ball catcher, the only knock on Tyson is his medical history.

He suffered a gruesome knee injury during his 2022 season with the Colorado Buffaloes, tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL all at the same time.

He missed the entire 2023 season, but he came back with a vengeance with Arizona State in 2024, catching 1,101 yards worth of passes and 10 touchdowns before a collarbone injury derailed his season and kept him out of the College Football Playoff.

After suffering a hamstring injury that forced him to sit out of the Sun Bowl against the Duke Blue Devils, it’s not hard to see that Tyson’s injury history would concern any team.

He certainly isn’t doing himself any favors after it was revealed Monday night that he won’t be participating in on-field workouts or doing medical testing at the NFL Combine this weekend.

While all 32 teams won’t have access to Tyson’s updated medical records, he could still choose to share them with a select few.

His talent is undeniable, so not participating in workouts probably won’t impact his stock much, but withholding his medical information could cause an uncomfortable slide on draft night.

There are plenty of teams within the top ten — the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans to name a few — who are in desperate need of a receiving threat on the outside.

However, those teams might be hesitant to take Tyson because of the uncertainty surrounding his health, especially when you consider that some of those teams have taken duds at the wide receiver position in recent years.

The Arizona State product just might be the most talented wideout in the draft, but he may not be the first one off the board after this questionable decision.
