The Tennessee Titans were victorious in their first preseason game ahead of the 2026 season, as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 19-13, despite being on the road. Now the Titans will quickly turn their focus to the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, who will play the Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
While the starters played in the first game of the preseason, can the same be said about the second game? Here is what looks to be the status of both Carnell Tate and Cam Ward for the game against the Seahawks.
Cam Ward - Quarterback

Fans can absolutely expect Cam Ward to return to the field in the Titans' next preseason contest; the question is how many drives he will play. During the first preseason contest against the 49ers, Ward played three total offensive drives and came out before the offense took the field for drive No. 4. I believe that he could have an even bigger impact in the next game, as he was a bit off on his timing and will need to get this offense in sync ahead of the Week 1 game against the New York Jets.
Ward should play at least three drives again in the next contest, with a chance he plays more given the Titans are taking on the Seahawks, who have a great defense that will test him.
Carnell Tate - Wide Receiver

Carnell Tate is also a player who will need to play against the Seahawks in preseason Week 2. He played against the 49ers but could never get things figured out, as he has still yet to log a reception despite being targeted three times. Tate is expected to serve as the Titans' No. 1 wide receiver on the roster, which means the Titans need to get him on pace.
I believe that he will need to play more drives than Ward just so he can get used to the NFL timing. I would love to see the Titans be bold and let him play a full half so he can get some extra work in. They shouldn't go overboard with reps, but this would do plenty for a rookie trying to get in the swing of things.
