Texas can’t ignore it anymore: Arch Manning is regressing this season.
Despite a slow start to his campaign, Manning finished the 2025 season with 3,163 passing yards, 399 rushing yards and 36 total touchdowns. His success last fall had fans hopeful heading into the 2026 season. However, all that momentum was derailed last weekend when he tossed two interceptions, including a pick-six, in an upset loss to Oklahoma.
Manning came into this Saturday’s game against Florida completing 63% of his passes for 1,122 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Judging by his first-half performance, his confidence has gone out the window.
Texas grabbed a 17-10 lead over Florida at halftime, but Manning had just 68 passing yards for Steve Sarkisian’s offense. He threw a deep ball into double coverage that had fans questioning his decision-making.

“Arch Manning is an industry plant and he’s gonna get a NFL GM fired. He just doesn’t have it,” one fan declared.
“How long do we have to play along and keep pretending” another fan said in regards to Manning’s struggles.
“Tramell Jones in his first start on the road against the top defense in the country just outplayed Arch Manning in the first half,” another person pointed out.
“Arch Manning is straight up undraftable,” a social media user declared.
Will Arch Manning stay in school one more year?
Arch’s uncle, New York Giants legend Eli Manning, was recently asked about the Texas quarterback’s future. He stressed the importance of taking full advantage of your college eligibility.
“Every year it’s an opportunity to play more games, get more prepared for the NFL, to win an SEC championship, to be a captain of the team,” Eli Manning said. “It’s not just about getting to the NFL and going the next step. It’s about enjoying your experience, enjoying your teammates and building something special with the guys that have been there together. I’m proud of Arch and how he’s handling this.”
While there’s no question NFL teams will have interest in Arch Manning, he would probably benefit from another year of college football.
Besides, Manning hasn’t shown nearly enough this season to warrant being a top-10 pick.
