Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have often been pitted against each other as rivals in the WNBA, but during Team USA’s run in the FIBA World Cup, they showed everyone that they are “friends” who support one another.
In the quarterfinals against Hungary, the Indiana Fever guard assisted the Atlanta Dream forward on her first six points of the game. Reese then returned the favor by throwing an assist to Clark in the third quarter of the same contest.
Then, in the World Cup final against France on Sunday, Reese made sure to cheer for Clark.
In the second quarter of the showdown, Clark received a pass from Jackie Young in the left corner, beyond the 3-point arc. With only a few seconds remaining before the clock ran out, the Fever star didn’t hesitate to shoot.

Clark’s 3-pointer went in as the buzzer sounded, allowing Team USA to cut France’s lead to just two, 45-43.
Reese, for her part, was seen getting hyped up after Clark’s shot went in. She even stepped out of the bench area to celebrate.
Fans took notice of her reaction and were absolutely delighted, with one fan even saying that it “melts” their heart.
“Look at how hyped Angel was for that CC bucket. These young ladies just wanna play basketball!!” a follower said. Another supporter shared, “Angel going crazy for CC.”
“It’s Angel celebrating for me!” a poster added.
A social media user shared, “Way to go CC!!!!! There is never a doubt!!! Angel Coming out to meet her to celebrate makes my heart sing! Way to go USA.”
“I want to see Angel and Caitlin on the same team in the WNBA someday,” a sixth fan stated.
After winning the championship, Clark and Reese also took a photo together and flexed their gold medals, further highlighting the good relationship they share.
