Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese was not able to finish Sunday's game against her former team, the Chicago Sky, due to a leg injury.
Reese left the contest early in the fourth quarter after she hurt her left leg on a non-contact play. As the Dream forward was attacking the basket, her left knee bent backward, causing her to fall to the floor.
The 24-year-old headed to the locker room and did not return to the game. Head coach Karl Smesko said in his postgame press conference that Reese wanted to return, but he opted not to bring her back because "it seemed like she was in a lot of pain."
"I just didn’t feel comfortable with it because she looked like she was in a lot of pain. Those are some of the tough decisions that you have to make," Smesko said. "Angel, the person, is very important to us, and we support her in all situations. I just didn't feel good about putting someone out there that looked like she was in that much pain."

For what it's worth, Reese appeared to be in good spirits after the game. As the players walked through the tunnel, the three-time All-Star showed her excitement about the team's third straight win.
"Dubs in the [expletive] chat," Reese shouted, as she was seen with an ice pack around her left knee.
Reese also stayed active on social media despite her injury. In one of her posts after the game, she heaped praise on Jordin Canada, who sank a clutch layup at the buzzer to give Atlanta a 93-91 victory.
"my all-star," Reese wrote about Canada.
In other posts, Reese shared personal photos, further highlighting that she's doing well.
