Angel Reese has established herself as one of the most dominant rebounders the WNBA has ever seen. Selected seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in 2024, the 6-foot-3 forward earned All-Star honors in each of her first two seasons and became the only player in WNBA history to average at least 12.0 rebounds per game in back-to-back seasons.

In April, the Sky shipped her to the Atlanta Dream despite averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals in her final season in Chicago. Reese is set to make her Atlanta regular season debut on Saturday when they take on the Minnesota Lynx.

But basketball is not the only thing Reese is known for. Away from the court, she has built one of the most powerful brands in women’s sports as a fashion fixture, businesswoman, and an increasingly prominent philanthropist.

On Thursday, one day before the WNBA season tips off, Reese took to X to announce a major milestone in her philanthropic career.

“The Angel C. Reese Foundation is proud to partner with @NBA2K, @ProjectScientist, & @livingclassroomsfoundation to help bridge the STEM access gap in Baltimore. We’re investing in the next generation of innovators because talent is everywhere — opportunity is not.”

The announcement formalized the MeBound STEM Leadership Initiative, a six-week program that took Reese back to her hometown of Randallstown in Baltimore County, where she launched hands-on learning opportunities for female student-athletes at Crossroads Middle School.

The curriculum spans coding, robotics design, 3D printing, STEM-based sports projects, career exploration, and skill-building. It was developed in collaboration with 2K Foundations, the philanthropic arm of the NBA 2K parent company, alongside nonprofit organizations Project Scientist and Living Classrooms Foundation.

The program is also a direct extension of the infrastructure Reese has been building since 2023. The Angel C. Reese Foundation was launched that year with Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore as its founding site, centered on creating opportunities for girls and underrepresented communities through education, mentorship, and sports.

With Reese now scoring a major partnership for her foundation, she will also have eyes set on her first season in Atlanta, hoping to lead the franchise to its first WNBA title.
