Angel Reese had a historic performance Thursday night during the Atlanta Dream’s win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
Although her field goal percentage this season leaves a lot to be desired, Reese couldn’t miss on Thursday night. In fact, she became the first player in WNBA history to record 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals without missing a single shot attempt.
As you’d imagine, Reese was pleased with her efficient performance.
“I was just in the mode. When you see the ball go through the net, you just continue to shoot it. I think the defense really led to the offense, and we got a lot of deflections,” Reese told reporters, via USA Today. “So, I kind of knew what kind of game it was going to be from the first steal I got, and just continuing to fight through.”

Quite the comeback for Reese.
Just a few days ago, Reese missed what would’ve been a game-winning layup against the Indiana Fever. She admit that her blunder at the rim weighed on her mind for a little bit.
“I didn’t sleep, and the competitor in me wanted to win that game so bad,” Reese said, via the New York Post. “I replayed that play so many times, but I’m like: Why would I let one moment dictate everything else that I have going on that is positive? So just being able to show up again for my team. It would have been negative for me not to come out tonight and just bounce back, and I knew they expected it from me — so just being able to do it obviously against [Wilson], trying to deflect as many passes as I can. I mean, she’s going to get her shots up, of course. But just knowing my spots and how great I am defensively to put pressure on her.”
The fact that Reese pulled off a historic performance just two games later is a testament to her resiliency.
