Atlanta Dream superstar Angel Reese released some new merchandise to commemorate her 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year win.
On Friday, the WNBA announced that Reese had won the coveted individual award. She received 46 of 74 votes to beat the Golden State Valkyries’ Gabby Williams and the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson, who placed second and third, respectively.
This is Reese’s first major individual accolade presented by the WNBA. She was also named the AP Defensive Player of the Year on Sunday.
Reese is the first player in franchise history to win the DPOY award. She will receive a trophy and a $30,000 cash prize.
To celebrate the milestone, the 6-foot-4 forward released a couple of new T-shirt designs. Reese made the personal announcement on Instagram through her Unapologetically Angel podcast.
“DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR 🤫 Available now at theangelreese.com,” the post’s caption read.
Reese averaged a double-double of 16.4 points and 12.1 rebounds in the regular season.
The three-time WNBA All-Star also set multiple WNBA records this season, including the most single-season rebounds (521) and most offensive rebounds (206).
She also broke the previous record for the most double-doubles in a single season with 32 and set the single-game record for most rebounds with 26.
Reese and the Dream are currently in the semifinals of the WNBA playoffs after sweeping the Washington Mystics in the first round.
They will face the No. 8 seed and 2024 WNBA champions, the New York Liberty. The best-of-five series kicks off Sunday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
