While Angel Reese was focused on the WNBA Finals, one former Chicago Sky teammate took a major step in her career.
New York Liberty forward Rebecca Allen, who played alongside Reese with the Sky in 2025, entered the 2026 season with the intention to retire at the end of it. Following the Liberty’s loss to Reese’s Atlanta Dream in the semifinals, Allen emphasized that she’s firm on her decision to call it a career and said that it was what she “wanted” for herself.
Over the weekend, Allen doubled down on her retirement, as she made a post on social media featuring various photos of herself and her Liberty teammates taken during the season. She captioned her post with, “Final year.”
Sure enough, Allen’s post drew plenty of reactions from her teammates and WNBA peers.

Liberty forward Satou Sabally wrote, “You made me giggle in hard times I’ll never forget. An ICON.”
“My cornaaaaaaaaaa buddy,” Leonie Fiebich added.
One comment that stood out, however, was from Reese. The Dream star had a short but clear message for her former teammate.
“enjoy it,” Reese wrote.
While Allen is retiring, it doesn’t mean she will step away from the sports world. In fact, she’s already considering her next steps.
“I think I want to be an agent. That’s what I’m looking into,” Allen said, via New York Daily News. “I’d like to be a sports agent. So I’ve been looking at that. I’m someone who’s really passionate about this game, and I just feel that I understand what players want. I feel like I’m a trusted individual as well, and obviously you’ve got to learn a bit in that. But that’s an area I want to be in.”
By the looks of it, Allen has a good plan in place to enjoy her life after basketball.
