Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream entered the WNBA break with a win, moving to 26-14 on the 2026 season after an 89-81 win over Olivia Miles and the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. Now, the Dream will have a couple of weeks off before their next game on Thursday, September 17, hosting Brittney Griner and the Connecticut Sun.
After spending two years with the Chicago Sky, Reese was traded to the Dream last offseason, looking to get a fresh start in the WNBA. And she has picked up right where she left off in 2025, averaging 16.1 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Reese’s play has been good enough to earn her a spot on Team USA for the 2026 FIBA World Cup, which will begin on Friday when the USA faces China. And joining Reese in Berlin, Germany, are many other WNBA stars, including Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers.

Reese and Bueckers have become familiar with each other’s games during 2026, already teaming up on multiple occasions. They played together on Team USA during the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament in February, where Reeese averaged 6.8 points and 8.0 rebounds, while Bueckers averaged 10.6 points and 2.2 assists. The two stars also teamed up on Team Coop at the 2026 All-Star Game.
On Thursday, Bueckers took to social media to share photos from Team USA’s media day in Berlin. The photos showed her wearing Team USA’s red No. 4 jersey, different from the No. 5 she wears for the Wings. She also revealed her Team USA nickname: “PB4.”
“An honor to be PB4 🇺🇸 Thank you God & thank you @usabasketball,” Bueckers wrote on Instagram.
Reese took notice of Bueckers’ post and was quick to leave a comment, showing her appreciation for the Wings guard’s nickname: “i love pb4.”
Reese, Bueckers and Team USA will take on China on Friday at 8:15 a.m. ET, before facing Italy on Sunday at 2:45 p.m. ET.
