Angel Reese joined the millions of fans who tuned in to watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever take on the Las Vegas Aces. Chelsea Gray stole the show by forcing overtime with a buzzer-beating three-pointer. She also knocked down a triple at the buzzer in the extra period to secure an 86-84 victory.
The Atlanta Dream forward reacted with one word to the Fever's brutal loss. She posted it on X, acknowledging Gray's heroics. The veteran guard finished with 11 points and seven assists, delivering the two biggest shots of the night against the Fever. Gray's clutch gene was on full display as she willed her team to its second consecutive win.
"LAKEISHAAAAA," Reese wrote.
Reese and Gray were teammates in the Unrivaled league. They suited up for Rose BC and led the franchise to become inaugural champions in 2025. Gray played an instrumental role in the team's success, earning Finals MVP honors. The duo played alongside Kahleah Copper, who gave Gray the "Lakeisha" nickname that has since "grown" on her.
The Aces aim to achieve three straight victories on Saturday against the Minnesota Lynx. They will face Reese and the Dream on Aug. 18.
Clark, on the other hand, will look to bounce back following her shooting struggles versus Las Vegas, converting just 7-of-20 attempts. She and the Fever will also return to action on Saturday. They will visit the Chicago Sky at the United Center with their sights set on snapping their current two-game losing skid.
