Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese was hyped after they clinched a playoff spot with their latest win.
For the fourth straight season, the Dream has secured a postseason berth. They made it official on Saturday night following their 99-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury.
Reese spearheaded the team’s offense with a career-high 31 points on 14-of-21 shooting from the field with 14 rebounds, two assists and four steals.
It was their third consecutive win and their 24th overall this season, helping the team overtake the Indiana Fever for the fourth seed in the standings.
Upon confirming their place in the playoffs, Reese was pumped. She shared the team’s post on her Instagram story along with a four-word reaction.
“Ahhhh WE IN THEREEEE🙏🏽,” Reese’s caption read.
It was also the 26th double-double game for the three-time WNBA All-Star. She has now inched closer to breaking Alyssa Thomas’ all-time record of 28 double-doubles in a single season.
Atlanta’s decision to acquire Reese in a blockbuster trade in April has paid off, as they shipped two future first-round picks in exchange for the forward.
Reese has been the third-best scorer for Atlanta this season behind Allisha Gray (19.4 points) and Rhyne Howard (18.2 points). The former LSU star is averaging 16.3 points, along with 12.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in 36 games.
With Reese on the roster, the Dream are looking to get past the first round after being eliminated for three straight seasons prior to her arrival to the team.
