Angel Reese's fans are not happy with ESPN.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports chose to highlight an awkward moment between Reese and her former LSU Tigers teammate, Flau'jae Johnson, during a WNBA regular season game between the Atlanta Dream and the Seattle Storm.
The Storm topped the Dream, 105-90, at Climate Pledge Arena.
It was the first regular season matchup between Reese and Johnson, who were teammates at LSU. Johnson got the better of Reese on Saturday night. Reese was in no mood to reunite with her old college teammate, though.
ESPN promoted the awkward meetup on social media, in a clip that has been viewed 6.5 million times.
"Flau'jae Johnson tried to give her former LSU teammate Angel Reese a handshake with more than a minute left in the game. Friday's matchup was their first meeting as opponents in the WNBA," ESPN shared.
WNBA fans, though, take issue with the clip promotion
WNBA fans are accusing ESPN of promoting the negative here, rather than celebrating the other positives of the WNBA.
"Of course ESPN posted this for engagement, last WNBA post yall sent out was about Tammy Turnover& Marina scoring 53pts," one fan wrote.
"ESPN literally never posts Angel unless they’re attempting to say something negative. It’s wild," one fan added.
"Whoever run this page just know you ain’t safe," one fan added.
"ESPN never posts Angel Reese unless they are trying to stir up drama," one fan added.
"Why is she hugging and dapping people up like they just won some sort of championship? Plus, we aren’t cool like that. Your mom said some really nasty things about AR. You also showed you felt some type of way about Latto putting AR in a music video instead of you. Flau, move!!" one fan added.
