WNBA star Angel Reese showed her defensive prowess in one sequence against the 6-foot-9 Brittney Griner during Thursday's game between the Atlanta Dream and Connecticut Sun.
Early in the second quarter, Griner posted up Reese and attempted to attack the basket. The Dream forward stands at 6-foot-4, so with the height advantage, the Sun center should have been able to score easily.
However, not only did Reese block Griner's first attempt, but she also denied her second try following an offensive rebound. Making matters worse for the Sun star, Reese ripped the ball away from her for a steal after her second miss.

"Angel Reese gets the rejection, then rips the rock away for the steal," the WNBA further wrote.
Fans absolutely loved what Reese did, with one commenter saying, "Don’t ever play with Angel!"
"She gotta be top 2 in DPOY," a poster added. Another supporter shared, "That’s what I like to see. Angel is 6'3 and Brittney is 6'9."
"Her level of responsibility in the W is unmatched and she is playing so well! Go Angel!!!!" a follower stated.
A fifth commenter wrote, "Angel Reese plays her part."
Griner finished with seven points, eight rebounds and two blocks as the Sun suffered a 104-69 blowout loss.
Reese totally outperformed Griner, as she recorded a near double-double of eight points and 15 rebounds. The Dream forward also had three steals and four blocks in an incredible defensive showing.
The Dream improved to 21-12 on the season with their latest win, climbing back to fourth in the WNBA standings.
Reese and Atlanta will play Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever next on Sunday in a game that could have massive repercussions for playoff seeding. Indiana also has a 21-12 record and sits behind Atlanta at No. 5.
