Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid poked fun at Travis Kelce during the team’s first full practice for training camp.
The Chiefs’ tactician revealed that Kelce is in incredible shape during the first day of practice at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph on Wednesday.
Speaking with the media, Reid commended his tight end for still being in tip-top condition despite the eventful offseason, particularly with his wedding to music superstar Taylor Swift on July 3.
But the three-time Super Bowl winner teased Kelce, saying it was his dancing during the wedding that kept him in shape.
“Yeah, he looked pretty good,” Reid said. “Yeah, it looked very good, yeah. He stayed in shape and did a lot of dancing at the wedding.”
Reid and his wife, Tammy, were invited to the high-profile wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York and personally witnessed Kelce’s dance moves during the event.
Kelce and Co. are looking to bounce back from a tough season after only finishing with a 6-11 record. The injury to their superstar, Patrick Mahomes, was one of the low points of their forgettable campaign.
Now, their prized quarterback is back from the ACL and LCL injuries he suffered during the Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kelce looks to maximize Mahomes’ comeback this upcoming season, as he signed a fresh three-year, $54 million contract extension with Kansas City earlier this year.
The former Cincinnati star logged 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns last season across 16 games.
Kelce will be a key piece to the Chiefs’ mission to reclaim glory in 2026.
