Alysa Liu and Ilia Malinin headlined Team USA’s figure skating contingent in the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games. While there were a number of decorated ice skaters on the team, there’s no denying that Liu and Malinin shone the brightest.
Liu and Malinin both won gold in the team event. It was the first Olympic medal for the young figure skaters, who helped lead Team USA to a first-place finish in the team competition.
Malinin, however, faltered in the individual competition. He fell twice in his routine in the free skate, resulting in a shocking eighth-place finish for the reigning World Figure Skating champion.
It was a much different case for Liu in the women’s free skate. She dominated the field, en route to the United States’ first women’s individual Olympic gold in figure skating since 2002.

Both skaters will now headline the upcoming Stars on Ice nationwide tour. Liu and Malinin will take center stage in an exhibition of elite talent and artistry on the ice. The two other members of the “Blade Angels,” Amber Glenn and Isabeau Levito, will also perform. Power couple Madison Chock and Evan Bates are also part of the ensemble cast.
The show was originally scheduled to run 26 shows across the United States. Two shows were recently added to accommodate the growing demand for the Olympic stars. On Monday, Stars on Ice made another announcement.
“New US Show Just Added! 🇺🇸 Wilkes-Barre, PA - April 24th - Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza!” Stars on Ice posted on Instagram.
Being the two main headliners of the highly anticipated event, Liu and Malinin were front and center in the announcement poster. Given their immense popularity among figure skating enthusiasts and casual fans alike, there’s no denying that these two are the biggest draws of the show.
This year’s Stars on Ice Tour will kick off on April 16, roughly two weeks after the World Figure Skating Championships in Prague. The opening show will be in Fort Myers, Florida. There will be a total of 29 shows across America, including stops in Orlando, Boston, Chicago, Anaheim, Seattle and Portland, to name a few. The finale will be on May 31 at Southaven, Mississippi.
At this point, it would not be surprising if more shows are added to the schedule.
