Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever are putting together one of their best stretches of basketball. The Fever handled the New York Liberty 106-92 on Tuesday, winning its 11th game in the last 15 and moving to 21-12 on the season.
Yet that run has been accompanied by a growing divide around the team. The latest drama came before Tuesday’s home game, when some Fever fans booed Stephanie White during the team’s pregame introductions. White had faced criticism over her handling of DiJonai Carrington’s flagrant-2 foul on Sophie Cunningham and responded with an emotional message about standing behind her players.

However, the reaction from fans has not been well received by the Fever locker room, with All-Star guard Caitlin Clark and Cunningham expressing their displeasure after the game.
Speaking during Thursday’s practice, Boston was asked about the reception White received and said she felt the same way.
“I feel like there’s no reason for any of that,” Boston said. “We come out here and we do everything we can to win and I think Steph does a great job with us. We love her and we appreciate her.”
Boston also called out the fan gestures towards her head coach:
“To hear that, it was really annoying, honestly, and disrespectful,” she said. “But for us, we kept the main thing the main thing and we said we were gonna come out here and get the dub.”
Indiana did exactly what Boston said it would, putting together another dominant offensive performance against one of the WNBA’s top teams. The Fever will hope to continue their winning run when they welcome the Dallas Wings to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday.
