There's no love lost between FOX broadcasters Thierry Henry and Alexi Lalas, that's for sure.
While covering the World Cup Round of 16 this week, Henry made it clear that he didn't agree with FIFA suspending Folarin Balogun's red card for the United States' match against Belgium. It was revealed on Monday that President Donald Trump called FIFA president Gianni Infantino and asked him to review the incident.
"All I did was ask for a review. I didn't say, you have to do this," Trump said. "This man is a smart, tough man, Gianni Infantino. He's a smart, tough man, and his stock has gone through the roof because the job he has done has been great. I feel like we have to have all the best players on the field."
Even though Henry didn't like that Balogun got a red card in the first place, he thought FIFA made the wrong move suspending the U.S. striker's suspension.
Lalas, on the other hand, didn't like Henry's take on this matter. He told his FOX colleague, "So [Cristiano] Ronaldo shouldn't have played in the World Cup either."

That ended up being the start of a heated interaction.
"You say whatever you want to say," Henry told Lalas. "I'm talking about the Balogun situation."
A few moments later, Lalas replied: "Hold on - what's not right about the situation? No one broke any rules or regulation."
Henry had this to say before giving Lalas the final word: "I believe the red wasn't a red. The way it happened after, I didn't agree with it.
Who is in the wrong here?
Judging by the responses online, soccer fans believe everyone on FOX's panel could've handled this situation better.
"Lalas is an idiot," one fan argued. "He doesn’t deserve to be on the same panel as the rest."
"Henry kept saying it was wrong and Lalas asked why and Henry had nothing lol. I'm not a big Lalas fan but Henry was off putting here," a second fan said.
"I’m getting sick of listening to Henry and Zlatan," another fan wrote. "I’m ready for them to be off my tv when this is over."
If we had to guess, this won't be the last time Henry and Lalas disagree on something during the 2026 World Cup.
