The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers have one of the most well-known rivalries in college football. With their first matchup dating back to 1893, the Crimson Tide have been dominant when the two go head-to-head.
In 90 all-time matchups, Alabama has gone 52-37-1. Even with Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer, they are on a six-game winning streak against the Tigers and are 8-2 in the past 10 matchups.
While the Crimson Tide continue to stack up wins over the Tigers on the field, they're also doing so off of it. On Wednesday, Rivals Steve Wiltfong reported that Alabama flipped class of 2027 wide receiver Cedrick Simmons from Auburn.
At 5-foot-8.5 and 190 pounds, Simmons is a three-star recruit, the No. 81 wide receiver and the No. 604 player in the nation, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. Out of Selma, Alabama, the pass catcher has decided he wants to stay in-state, just not with Auburn.
Despite not being rated extremely highly, his production makes him an exciting addition for the Crimson Tide. Last season for Southside High School, he hauled in 106 receptions for 2,192 yards and 20 touchdowns. According to MaxPreps, he led the stats in receiving yards.

With this latest addition, Alabama has landed 14 commitments in the 2027 recruiting class, ranking 32nd in the nation and 13th in the SEC. Simmons is just the second wide receiver in the group, alongside four-star Osani Gayles.
On the other hand, Auburn must look elsewhere if it wants to find a replacement. The Tigers have offers out for several other wide receivers, including three-star Deshawn Dillon, three-star Khamarian Young and three-star Vermont Carmack.
