The Alabama Crimson Tide will attempt to bounceback from their consecutive losses with a game against Texas A&M today but will be without one of their key defensive players: Defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.
According to AL.com’s Nick Kelly, Kirkpatrick has been suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules. Kelly noted that he had not previously been on the availability report at all this week. Kirkpatrick has played in every game for the Tide this year.
“Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. has been suspended for a violation of team rules, a UA spokesperson confirms to @aldotcom. The Alabama DB was ruled out on the availability report today after not being listed at all this week,” Kelly wrote on X.
Kirkpatrick is losing support of the fans.
Unfortunately it’s not the first time that Kirkpatrick has had disciplinary problems at Alabama. He was suspended for Alabama’s final seven games last season after being arrested in November.
But there aren’t any known legal issues that Kirkpatrick is involved with at the moment, so it could be something that happened inside the building.
Whatever it is, Alabama fans have had enough of it and are ready to see him sent packing:
“Back to back years suspended. Should be let go and never come back,” one fan on X declared.
“He’s in his THIRD SEASON. He ain’t gonna change. Time to ket him go,” wrote another.
“Dude needs to transfer,” a third wrote.

Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. holds a unique place in Alabama history. Both he and his father Dre Kirkpatrick Sr. were recruited by Nick Saban, making them the only father-son duo that Saban personally recruited to the Crimson Tide.
Dre Kirkpatrick Sr. was a three-time All-SEC selection in three years with the team en route to being a first-round NFL Draft pick.
