“He pointed at me.”
That’s what Las Vegas Aces star forward A’ja Wilson told stadium security after getting hit with a technical foul for going into the stands to confront a fan late in the fourth quarter of her team’s Game 2 loss to the Indiana Fever.
Wilson was not ejected from the game, but perhaps she should’ve been. Wilson was in clear violation of the WNBA’s player conduct rules, which state that a player a player must be automatically ejected for “deliberately entering the stands other than as a continuance of play.” The rules, outlined under section (4) of the WNBA rulebook, make it clear that an ejection was appropriate.
The Las Vegas Aces star, however, was allowed to remain in the game. But that doesn’t mean she won’t face further punishment moving forward, heading into Game 3.

Wilson has continued to defend her behavior.
“If I see a man come at me, taking steps toward me and pointing at me, I don’t give a damn what you said. I don’t give a damn how you said it, the tone, that is unacceptable,” Wilson said after the game. “You don’t know me to step toward me and point at me. I’m not for that (expletive) at all … That there is unacceptable. How he gets back in the game because they said he didn’t do anything, of course he did.”
The WNBA star doesn’t plan on changing anything, either.
“It’s just certain things that I’m not going to allow anymore, because it’s unacceptable,” she said. “You don’t know me at all to come and step toward me and point at me and say anything.”
Game 3 of the first round playoff series is set for Thursday night at 9 p.m. E.T.
