What happens when an unstoppable force meets a very moveable object? You get a stadium employee blown out of her shoes by A’ja Wilson.
That’s what happened in last night’s game between Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces and the rival Phoenix Mercury as a WNBA employee stepped in front of a screen blocking the tunnel that the Aces players were running through, not realizing that the players were running full sprint through it. Wilson – all 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds of her – couldn’t see the woman stepping into her path and accidentally trucked her like a linebacker.
Everyone else in the tunnel plus everyone viewing the scene let out a gasp. Wilson attended to the employee to make sure she was alright.
According to TMZ Sports, the fan who recorded the above video said that the arena worker was okay afterwards.
The incident certainly didn’t seem to affect Wilson’s headspace for the ensuing game as she dropped 34 points in a dominating 100-82 win over Phoenix.

As scary as it may have been for the players and fans at the arena, basketball fans online had all kinds of jokes about the thing. Some even accused the employee of trying to commit insurance fraud:
“Imagine looking in that direction and you blatantly decide to walk anyway while noticing a WNBA team running through,” one user remarked.
“How Black Fridays used to be when we were a proper country!” wrote another.
“Blocking foul, easy call. Gotta set those feet,” a third wrote.

As scary as it was, it also showcases the physical difference between an elite WNBA player like A’ja Wilson and the average person.
