The NCAA basketball transfer portal is in full swing following its official opening on April 7.

As expected, there have already been thousands of entries into the portal, with there being plenty of high-profile players on the move. One of the more notable players who tested the transfer waters was BYU Cougars point guard Rob Wright III.

The former five-star recruit who started his career at Baylor exploded this season for Kevin Young, averaging 18.1 points, 4.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 46.7% from the field and 41% from three. While Wright easily could have commanded millions elsewhere, he announced on Instagram that he will be returning to Provo.

"I'm back," wrote Wright.

As expected, the comments were flooded with elated BYU fans, and also featured plenty of comments from other fan bases who were hoping the All-Big 12 selection was going to be joining their program.

Among the people who celebrated Wright's return was his running mate at BYU and projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, AJ Dybantsa. The consensus All-American and Big 12 Freshman of the Year simply wrote "crib" in the comment section, indicating that BYU is their home no matter what.

CBS Sports' Matt Norlander reported after the decision that it was more so Wright's camp that was wanting to see how much NIL money they could net, and that the point guard wasn't necessarily "eager" to play at a third school.

"Big for BYU. Had been trending this way in the past 20 hours," wrote Norlander. "My understanding is Wright's camp wanted to really test the market on a bigger NIL number after BYU wouldn't budge, but amid all that hoopla, Wright wasn't really that eager to play at a third school in three years."

While we know where Wright will be playing next season, the same cannot officially be said for Dybantsa. Despite being a contender for the top pick in the draft, Dybantsa has certainly leaned into toying with fans about not knowing if he will go pro.

Only time will tell, but it's hard to imagine he won't.
