The one thing the Cool Grey 8 does that not all of the silhouettes do with the colorway is its use of the nubuck. Wolf grey nubuck goes hard and it looks really good on an AJ8 that already has a boot vibe.
Tonal detailing runs across the cross straps, laces and tongue, including the chenille Jumpman patch. Leather paneling at the heel, adjustable heel draw cords, full-length Air unit underneath.
Cool Grey started on the Air Jordan 11 in 2001 and became one of the first major non-OG Jordan colorways to stick. Jordan Brand has since run it across the 9, the 3, the 4, the 12 and the 10. The 8 got it in 2017, and the nubuck is what separates that version from the rest.
