The Air Jordan 7 ‘French Blue’ wasn’t an OG, but man is it an amazing colorway. The AJ7 silhouette has seen a resurgence of late and this one should be on the radar. We haven’t seen it drop in almost 12 years. If that doesn’t make it overdue, I don’t know what does. Let’s talk sneakers.

The crazy thing is I saw this one go for as low as $90. That’s an absolute steal. If you find this one anywhere from $90 to $150, you should cop a pair.
The Air Jordan 7 launched in 1992 with five original colorways, according to Flight Archives. The French Blue came a decade later, landing Dec. 14, 2002, as part of the model’s first retro run at $125 under style code 304775-141.
Michael Jordan put the colorway on the court with the Washington Wizards. Flight Archives has a photo of him wearing the pair against the Nets on Dec. 13, 2002, one day before it hit stores, and Complex notes he wore them during his final NBA season.
Stadium Goods adds that the French Blue was never a regular part of his rotation in either of his two seasons in Washington.

Complex ranked it eighth on its list of the best Air Jordan 7s of all time, calling the Jordan connection “a plus.” It’s one of five colorways from outside the 1992 lineup to make that top 10.
The 2015 pair arrived Jan. 24 at select Jordan Brand accounts for $190, under style code 304775-107. It was part of the Remastered line, Jordan Brand’s 2015 push to bring retro materials and shapes closer to the originals, and its official colorway added University Blue to the name.
Nice Kicks described white tumbled leather across the upper, with French Blue, University Blue and Flint Grey on the branding, the accents and the patterned tongue. Tinker Hatfield’s design keeps the Air unit hidden in the midsole and uses a neoprene inner sleeve borrowed from the Huarache.
The 2002 and 2015 versions sell under separate listings on StockX, so the style code is the quickest way to make sure you land the right pair. Jordan Brand has also put the shade on the Air Jordan 12 ‘French Blue’.
