The Air Jordan 4 ‘Laser’ Pack brings artwork to athletics, wrapping Tinker Hatfield’s classic in Chicago Bulls history. Expected in February 2027, the two-pair set brings back the ‘White Laser’ (IR2070-100) and ‘Black Laser’ (IR2070-001), two ornate AJ4s first released in 2005. I’ve worn Jordan 4s for decades, and these feel less like another retro than Jordan Brand reopening one of its most interesting design chapters.

What Makes the Air Jordan 4 ‘Laser’ Pack Stand Out?

The ‘White Laser’ covers white leather in fine etched artwork, framed by black wings and netting with red eyelets, lining and branding. From across the room, it reads like classic Bulls-colored AJ4 heat. Up close, the upper becomes the conversation.

The ‘Black Laser’ flips the mood with black leather, tonal engraving, red laces and lining, pale green eyelets and a grey midsole based on the 2005 pair. One displays the artwork. The other makes you look for it.

Why Does the Air Jordan 4 ‘Laser’ Pack Matter?

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 4 for 1989, creating the first Jordan signature model released globally. Michael Jordan wore it for “The Shot” over Cleveland, while Do the Right Thing helped push the silhouette beyond basketball. Today, I’d argue the AJ4 is Jordan Brand’s most powerful retro.

The Laser story runs nearly as deep. Mark Smith used laser engraving to turn sneakers into storytelling, including a one-of-one Air Jordan 3 for MJ’s 40th birthday and the heavily etched Air Jordan XX. Jordan revisited that history on August 22, 2026, releasing the AJ3 ‘Laser’ and AJ1 Low OG ‘Laser’ together before this reported 2027 return.

Should You Buy the Air Jordan 4 ‘Laser’ Pack?

For nostalgia, history and Jordan 4 storytelling, yes. I’ve worn AJ4s for decades, generally stay true to size and know the familiar pinky-toe squeeze can be unforgiving for wide feet.

My bigger problem is timing. I bought the white-based Air Jordan 4 ‘Tour Yellow’ on September 5 and plan to grab the ‘Bred’ 4 in November. Then January brings the ‘Obsidian’ 12 and lighter-toned ‘Musik’ 4. I’d pay the $500 admission fee to hear the Laser story, but by February, I may already have my white-and-black AJ4 bases covered.
