With the NFL season just two months away, ESPN is reportedly taking care of Adam Schefter's contract situation.

Schefter, who joined ESPN in 2009, has been the network's top NFL insider for well over a decade now. In addition to breaking news for ESPN, he makes regular appearances on shows such as "Get Up" and "SportsCenter."

According to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, ESPN is working on an extension with Schefter that'll keep him under contract into the 2030s. If this deal gets done, that'll ensure that a rival network can't poach him for a while.

"Adam Schefter and ESPN are closing in on a long-term extension that would keep him at the network several years into the 2030s, sources told Front Office Sports," Glasspiegel wrote. "Financial terms of the deal were not immediately known."

For what it's worth, Andrew Marchand reported in 2022 that Schefter's deal with ESPN paid him around $9 million per year.

It's been a busy week for ESPN.

Front Office Sports reported last week that Mike Garafolo has received a new deal from ESPN. He'll remain on NFL Network though since it's owned by the Worldwide Leader In Sports.

ESPN has also signed former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy finalist Chase Daniel to a multiyear deal. He'll appear on “SEC Nation” and “Thursday Night Primetime CFB” this fall.

“To everyone who’s watched the YouTube breakdowns, listened to the podcasts, watched on TV, or supported this next chapter after my playing career…thank you. None of this happens without you,” Daniel said. “I can’t wait to hit the road with SEC Nation, call national ESPN games on Thursday nights, break down the NFL, and bring you guys even more football all season long.”

We can't wait to see what other moves ESPN has lined up for the 2026 season.
