Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. are expected to play in Week 1 amid current injuries.
Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers received a positive update on the injuries to Metcalf and Pittman Jr., as both are primed to suit up for the team for their season-opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 13.
According to Steelers beat reporter Nick Farabaugh, Metcalf has said he feels okay about his current injury.
“Some WR updates: DK Metcalf said he’s ‘fine’ with an injury that has kept him out the last week and a half,” Farabaugh wrote. “No long-term concern for Week 1. Injury still undisclosed.”
Meanwhile, Pittman Jr., who got hurt during their training camp earlier this month, is still on track for his debut with the team.
“Michael Pittman Jr. has a minor hamstring injury that has held him out for a week and a half, but no concern for Week 1.”

This crucial update will ease concerns about the availability of both players, especially their superstar quarterback, Rodgers, who will target them on offense.
Metcalf is entering his second season with the Steelers, who traded for him in March 2025 in an exchange for two draft picks.
He racked up decent numbers for the team last season with 59 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns.
On the other hand, Pittman Jr. is heading into his first year with Pittsburgh following a trade with the Indianapolis Colts during the offseason.
The former USC star hauled in 80 receptions for 784 yards and found the end zone seven times with the Colts in 2025.
Metcalf and Pittman Jr. are both expected to sit out the Steelers’ second preseason game against the New York Jets on Friday. The team won its preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 13, 28-9.
