New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn delivered a mixed injury update Friday ahead of the team’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell will return Sunday after missing four games with a finger injury. Glenn confirmed Mitchell would participate fully in practice, giving the Jets another option in their passing attack.
However, running back Breece Hall remains a concern. Glenn said Hall would be limited in practice and listed as questionable for the divisional matchup.
Mitchell’s return gives quarterback Geno Smith another target as New York looks to build momentum. The receiver’s absence had limited the team’s options on the perimeter, and his availability could help stretch Miami’s coverage vertically.
The Jets will still need to assess how quickly Mitchell can regain his rhythm after spending four games sidelined. A full practice is encouraging, but his effectiveness will become clearer once he returns to game action.
Hall’s situation is more uncertain. The running back remains central to New York’s ground attack and passing-game options, making his status important as the coaching staff prepares its game plan.
If Hall cannot play or is limited, New York may need to distribute more carries among its other running backs. That adjustment could also affect how the Jets use play-action and protect Fields against Miami’s pass rush.

The timing matters for a Jets team looking to improve its position in the AFC East. A divisional win would provide valuable momentum, but the offense must be ready for either outcome with Hall.
Mitchell’s confirmed return is the clearest positive from Glenn’s update. Hall’s questionable designation leaves the Jets waiting for a final determination before kickoff.
New York faces Miami on Sunday, Oct. 25. Hall’s availability will be a key storyline heading into the game, while Mitchell is set to make his return to the lineup.
