Monday, June 1 marked the start of Pride Month.

Pride Month, which takes place in June every year, is meant to "recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally."

Much of the sports world has honored Pride Month, with special nights and official social media posts, among other things. The New York Yankees, for example, posted a Happy Pride Month message, including a rainbow "NY" logo.

Several NFL teams have posted about Pride Month, as well. However, according to a report from Outkick, nine NFL teams did not take part in Pride Moth celebrations on social media on Monday, June 1.

9 NFL teams refused to post Pride Month messages

According to the report, nine NFL teams did not take part in Pride Month social media messages on Monday. Those nine teams include:

  • New York Jets
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New Orleans Saints

Many of those nine NFL teams did not post about Pride Month at the start of June last year, either.

Monday was a big day in the NFL world. The Los Angeles Rams made a blockbuster trade for Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett. Much of the NFL world seemed focused on that blockbuster move on Monday. There were also some big signings, with the New York Giants bringing Odell Beckham Jr. back.

Perhaps those moves played a part in teams' social media strategies on Monday. Or, perhaps their decisions signaled something else.

Regardless, at this point in 2026, it's always notable when an official sports franchise opts against posting something in honor of Pride Month at the start of June. Perhaps things will change as the rest of the month moves forward.
