Week 5 could be a wet one in the National Football League.
A tropical storm or hurricane is currently developing in the Gulf of America. While states like Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana are bracing for the worst of it, much of the country could be dealing with storms throughout the weekend.
The rough weather is expected to arrive later this week and potentially last through the weekend. Saturday night’s highly-anticipated Alabama vs. Georgia game is at risk of being postponed.
“We’ve got potential for a hurricane making landfall in Mobile Bay,” meteorologist James Spann told AL.com. “The Alabama-Georgia game, a presidential visit, College GameDay. You got the big (Zach Bryan) concert at Auburn. This is the National Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores this weekend, which is huge. I mean, you could not … it’s gonna be a nightmare.”
“The idea of moving the game, it’s on the table,” Spann added. “I’m saying it’s clearly on the table. It would be a nightmare for everybody involved. But if we do get a Category 1, Category 2 hurricane coming right up Mobile Bay [on] Saturday morning, I don’t know if you wouldn’t be playing that game in Tuscaloosa that you’ve got the chance of winds gusting to 50 miles an hour, torrential rain and the chance of isolated tornadoes on top of everything else.”

Giants quarterback Jameis Winston was asked about the forecast on Wednesday. He doesn’t appear to be concerned.
“Today is beautiful. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping. I can only focus on right now,” he said.
Hopefully, the weather will be beautiful on Sunday, too.
