San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was suspended for six games at the start of this season following an arrest in Ohio. But that suspension ended today and it was back to business for the 49ers’ principal owner.

According to ProFootballTalk, York is already back at work representing his team for league meetings and has been attending the 2026 fall meetings in New York. It marked his first appearance in an NFL event since voluntarily skipping three games and subsequently receiving credit towards the six-game suspension the league handed down later.

“Via multiple reports, York is attending the 2026 fall meetings in New York,” PFT’s Mike Florio wrote.

“York quickly pleaded no contest to a pair of misdemeanors after he was arrested in a prostitution sting operation in East Palestine, Ohio. He had arranged a meeting with a fake sex worker, and he was apprehended while looking for a fictitious lot at a trailer park.”

The 49ers have not missed York over these first six games though – not on the field, at least. The team is 6-0 (good for the best record in the league) and already boasts a three-game lead over the defending champion Seattle Seahawks.

The Incident with York

York, who became the principal owner of the team in 2024, was arrested on August 23, 2026, during a prostitution sting operation in East Palestine, Ohio. Police said York responded to an undercover online advertisement and allegedly attempted to pay $160 for sex. He was initially charged with soliciting prostitution, but prosecutors amended the charges.

On August 24, York pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, the latter relating to his use of a cellphone to respond to the advertisement. He was sentenced to one day in jail, credited for time already served, and fined $1,150.

The NFL subsequently conducted its own review and announced on October 2 that York would be suspended for six games and fined $500,000 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. The league credited him with the first three games of the season, which he had already missed, leaving three additional games to serve.

York apologized publicly, calling his behavior an “inexcusable mistake” and accepting the league’s punishment.
