An NFL player was shot hours after the Super Bowl in San Francisco.

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White was shot in the ankle during the early morning hours on Monday, February 9. The shooting happened hours after the Seahawks topped the Patriots, 29-13, in Super Bowl 60. White was injured in the shooting, which was reportedly the result of a dispute.

White, 27, underwent surgery. His injuries are not believed to be life or career threatening. The 49ers announced that they "will provide further updates when appropriate."

"San Francisco police said they responded to a shooting at a business on the 1700 block of Mission Street at around 4:06 a.m. local time and found a victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The responding officers provided aid and called paramedics and said the victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries," ESPN reported.

No arrests have been made.

According to San Francisco police, there was a verbal dispute between two groups outside of a business.

"A preliminary investigation revealed a verbal altercation occurred between two groups inside a business," the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. "The victim was injured when shots were fired by an unknown suspect."

White has been with the 49ers since October

White was acquired by the 49ers in at trade in October 2025. He was acquired by the 49ers for a sixth round pick.

The 49ers defensive lineman appeared in 11 games for San Francisco, totaling 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and three tackles for loss while playing defensive end and defensive tackle.
