The Detroit Lions are nearly two weeks into training camp ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Dan Campbell's group will continue practicing the coming week before hitting the road for the preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals next Thursday.
Detroit entered camp with a ton of questions, and though some have already been answered, including running back Jahmyr Gibbs' contract situation, others haven't.
That said, let's take a look at four questions that have remained unanswered so far in Lions training camp.
Who Will Be the Starting Left Guard?

The open left guard competition is the premier camp battle for the Lions on offense. Christian Mahogany is looking to retain the role for the second straight year, but Miles Frazier and Juice Scruggs have also seen first-team reps throughout camp.
Obviously, the Lions aren't going to determine a starter at the position in the first few weeks of practices, but it seems like nobody in the position group has separated themselves from the others. Mahogany likely has the slight edge, given he was the starter last year, but the preseason will decide this competition.
Will Blake Miller be a Day 1 starter?
Though Blake Miller was the Lions' first-round pick in April, he isn't guaranteed the starting job at right tackle. Larry Borom, who signed a one-year deal with the Lions in March, is coming off the best season of his career in 2025 with the Miami Dolphins and is pushing Miller in camp.
Miller has had an up-and-down camp, but Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News said the rookie is still receiving most of the starting right tackle snaps. However, we simply can't count out Borom, who has more than a puncher's chance to snag the spot from Miller ahead of Week 1.
Who Will Be Terrion Arnold’s Replacement?

With the Lions cutting ties with Terrion Arnold due to his off-the-field legal issues, they need to find a new No. 2 boundary corner. Rock Ya-Sin and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. are the top contenders for the job currently, as Roger McCreary and rookie Keith Abney II have been primarily operating in the slot.
However, Nick Whiteside's emergence in camp has made the competition even more interesting. There may not be a player on Detroit's roster who has raised their stock more in the past two weeks than Whiteside, who's been standing out with his sticky coverage and special teams abilities.
Either Ya-Sin or Rakestraw will likely be the starter to begin the year, but we still must keep an eye on the position as camp goes on.
What Will the Edge Rusher Rotation Look Like?
We all know that Aidan Hutchinson will be the top edge rusher for the Lions, but the order of the rest of the position group hasn't been fully decided yet. D.J. Wonnum and second-round rookie Derrick Moore should see a bunch of pass-rushing snaps, along with Ahmed Hassanein, who is having a strong camp.
Detroit's pass. rush must be more well rounded and consistent this season, and they have to find a way to replace Al-Quadin Muhammad's production. Muhammad left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency this offseason after posting 11 sacks in 2025 with the Lions.
