The Phoenix Mercury made a massive roster decision Monday as the franchise and veteran forward DeWanna Bonner agreed to a contract buyout.
Of course, the Mercury have struggled this season as they have already been eliminated from making the playoffs as they currently sit 12th in the WNBA standings with a 13-24 record.

Because of this, Phoenix and Bonner have decided to go separate ways that will allow the veteran forward to sign with a contender once she clears waivers and becomes a free agent as she tries to win her third championship this season.
For Bonner, she has put together a solid season thus far as the 39-year-old forward is averaging 10.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 39.4% from the floor and 26.2% from three.
With Bonner still playing at a high level, multiple contending teams will likely show interest in her and these three could be potential landing spots.
Las Vegas Aces

The Las Vegas Aces have emerged as one of the top fits for Bonner, especially after NaLyssa Smith went down with a lower-body injury in Sunday’s victory over the Tempo.
Because of this, Bonner could fill a hole in their lineup if Smith is set to miss time and the veteran forward could be a solid fit alongside A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray and the rest of their core.
Bonner would provide Las Vegas with another reliable scorer and defender alongside their core, which could propel them to yet another title this season.
Atlanta Dream

The Atlanta Dream are another potential fit for Bonner as they are in need of another defensive-minded wing alongside Allisha Gray, Angel Reese and Rhyne Howard.
Of course, the Dream have looked like a title contender for much of the season and if they are able to land Bonner, she could help them compete for the championship this season.
Golden State Valkyries

The Golden State Valkyries could also be a fit for Bonner, especially with their love of 3-and-D wings.
Golden State has put together a great season thus far as they sit second in the WNBA standings behind strong play from their core led by Gabby Williams and Veronica Burton.
Despite this, the Valkyries could still be one piece away from challenging for the title this season, though Bonner could be their missing piece as she would give them another dangerous scorer and defender.
While these three teams could all be solid fits for Bonner, other contenders could also show interest in the veteran forward as she looks to sign with a team to try and capture her third WNBA championship.
