The New York Jets are hoping that their 2026 rookie class can make an immediate impact.
The Jets selected eight players, addressing several needs across the roster.
So far throughout training camp, the early signs have been encouraging, as several of them look ready to contribute in 2026.
Here are three rookies who have been a pleasant surprise throughout training camp.
Defensive Tackle: Darrell Jackson Jr.

The Jets drafted defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. in the fourth round to add depth to their defensive line. So far throughout training camp, he has established himself as a potential contributor.
Rich Cimini discussed Jackson Jr. on the Jets Collective podcast, saying he believes the rookie has a legitimate chance to earn a role in the defensive line rotation.
"A guy that we haven't even talked about today, Darrell Jackson Jr, remember him, the fourth-round pick? I think he will be in the rotation on the defensive line. When they first drafted him, I thought to myself, this guy is going to be inactive every week. Well, I don't think so. I think he's got a really good chance to be in what looks to be a pretty deep defensive line rotation," Cimini said.
Quarterback: Cade Klubnik

Throughout the first weeks of training camp, quarterback Cade Klubnik has established himself as the frontrunner for the backup quarterback job, impressing with his accuracy and development.
Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich gave high praise to the Clemson product.
"Cade has been good. I really like how he has come back mentally, and I feel like he has taken a good step," Reich said. "It's a lot now; we're at the point now where pretty much everything is in. He shows the aptitude to pick it all up. The aptitude for big plays. Just continue to weather some storms."
Wide Receiver: Omar Cooper Jr.
The Jets added much-needed depth to their wide receiver room when they selected Indiana standout Omar Cooper Jr. late in the first round.
The Jets are hoping he can be a reliable target to pair with AD Mitchell and Garrett Wilson, who is looking to bounce back from a down season.
Cooper Jr. has shown flashes throughout training camp, showcasing the playmaking ability that has made him so potent with the Hoosiers.
That's a good sign for the Jets, who desperately needed help at receiver last season.
