Countless people in Will County, Illinois were impacted this week by a horrific accident involving a District 114 school bus.
According to the Illinois State Police, the school bus was involved in a head-on collision with a sedan at 8:17 a.m. near the intersection of Manhattan Monee Road and Kankakee Road. Unfortunately, the sedan driver was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
As for the 10 students who were on the bus, they were taken to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
"The sedan sustained heavy damage and a blue tarp was located next to the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver has not yet been released," the report from NewsNation states. "Manhattan Monee road, between Schoolhouse and Cedar, was closed for several hours as authorities investigated. Ten students, along with the bus driver, were transported to an area hospital to be evaluated."

Thankfully, the 10 students who were hospitalized have been released from the hospital.
The crash is still being investigated by the authorities in Illinois. The cause of this accident has not yet been announced.
